This Privacy Policy explains how DS Tiger Guide ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use https://dstigerguide.com and our related services. It also explains your choices and your privacy rights.

What we collect

Information you give us

Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
Account details: your sign-in details and your preferences. We store your password scrambled (hashed), never as plain text.
Business details: if you list or claim a business, its name, address, phone number, email, website, hours, photos, products and description.
Messages and requests: what you send us through our forms, including contact messages and free audit requests.
Payment details: when you buy a plan, our payment processor collects your card details. We do not see or store your full card number.

Information we collect automatically

Device and usage data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the links you click, the page that sent you to us, and the date and time of your visit.
Approximate location: your city or region, based on your IP address. We do not collect your precise location.
Cookies and similar technologies: see "Cookies and analytics" below.

Information from other sources

Public information about businesses, such as Google Business Profile details and business websites, which we use to build and check listings.
Information from our service providers, such as payment confirmations.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health information or your precise location. Please do not send it to us.

How we use it

To run the directory and show business listings.
To create and manage your account and your listings.
To process payments for plans and add-ons.
To answer your requests and messages, including free audit requests.
To send you service emails, such as account, listing and billing notices.
To send you newsletters and offers if you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To send you text messages, only if you agreed (see "Text messages" below).
To review business claims and new listings.
To protect the site and our users from spam, fraud and abuse.
To understand how people use the site and make it better.
To meet our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads targeted at you based on your activity on other websites).

We share personal information only in these cases:

Service providers that help us run the site: our customer relationship (CRM), email and text message provider; our payment processor; and our hosting, database, email delivery, maps, spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA) and analytics (Google Analytics) providers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us, and they must protect it.
Public listings: details on a public business listing, and reviews or recommendations you post, can be seen by anyone.
Legal reasons: when the law requires it, to answer valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us.
Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, sale or transfer of assets, your information may pass to the new owner, who must keep honoring this policy.
With your consent: in any other case, only when you ask us to or agree.

Text messages

If you tick the text message box on one of our forms, you agree that DS Tiger Guide may text you about your request and your account. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Agreeing to texts is never required to use our site or to buy anything.

Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. You can also opt out by contacting us or, if you have an account, by turning texts off on your Profile page.

We never share or sell your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the text message provider that delivers our messages.

We keep a record of when and how you agreed to texts or opted out, so we can honor your choice and show that you consented.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies:

Essential cookies keep you signed in, keep the site secure and remember your choices. The site does not work properly without them.
Analytics cookies help us understand how people use the site. We use Google Analytics, which collects usage data such as the pages you view and your approximate location. Read how Google uses this data. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Spam protection: some forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which is covered by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work without them.

We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common standard for them.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy:

Account and listing information: while your account or listing is active, and after that only as long as we need it to settle disputes or meet legal duties.
Messages and audit requests: as long as we need them to handle your request and follow up.
Text message consent records: for at least 4 years after your last opt-in or opt-out, so we can show your consent choices.
Billing records: as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Analytics data: for the retention period set in Google Analytics, which is no more than 14 months.

When we no longer need information, we delete it, or remove the details that identify you.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access limited to the people who need it, and providers with strong security practices. No way of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Your choices

You can update your details in your account at any time.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any email. We will still send service emails about your account, listing or billing.
You can stop text messages by replying STOP.
You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to delete it. Email us at janita@dstigerguide.com. We may need to confirm who you are first.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Know and access the personal information we have about you, and get a copy in a portable format.
Correct personal information that is wrong.
Delete your personal information.
Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, targeted advertising and profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. We do not do any of these.
Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect it.
Appeal if we turn down your request.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia and other US states with privacy laws have some or all of these rights. To use them, email us at janita@dstigerguide.com or call +1 512-820-2968. We will confirm who you are, usually by matching your email address or account, and reply within the time the law requires (generally 45 days). You can use an authorized agent. We may ask for proof that the agent is allowed to act for you. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If we deny your appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.

We will not treat you differently for using your rights. We will not refuse you service, charge you a different price or give you a lower quality of service because you made a request.

California residents

In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information:

identifiers, such as name, email address, phone number and IP address;
customer records, such as mailing address and payment confirmations;
commercial information, such as plans you bought;
internet or network activity, such as usage data;
approximate location;
professional or business information, such as business listing details.

We collected it from you, from your device and from the other sources above, for the purposes in "How we use it". We disclosed it for business purposes to the service providers listed in "Who we share it with". We have not sold or shared personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of anyone under 16. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

AI assistants and connectors

If you connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to your account, that assistant can read public directory information and, if you allow it, your own account details listed on the consent screen (for business owners: your listing's statistics, reviews, SEO report and submissions). Content you ask the assistant to submit is reviewed by us before publication. You can disconnect any assistant or revoke API keys at any time from My Account → Connect AI. Your use of the assistant itself is governed by its provider's terms and privacy policy.

Children

This site is not meant for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

You must be at least 18 to list or claim a business, or to agree to text messages.

Links to other websites

Our site links to business websites and other sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.

Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and our site is meant for people in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make an important change, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect. We will not use personal information we already have in a materially different way without your consent.
