This Week in Dripping Springs: Ribbon Cuttings, Friday Night Football & a New Water Restriction

Sep 15, 2026~3 min read

From new businesses cutting ribbons on Mercer Street to the Tigers taking the field under the Friday night lights, there's plenty happening around Dripping Springs this week. Here's your quick catch-up on what just happened and what's coming up in the Texas Hill Country.

New Businesses & Ribbon Cuttings

It's been a busy stretch for the local business community, with several new and expanding businesses celebrating milestones alongside the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce:

  • Rick's Cleaners celebrated a ribbon cutting on September 9 at their new spot at 333 East US-290, #417 — a welcome addition for anyone in need of dry cleaning close to home.

  • Therapy Adventures marks the opening of their new location with a ribbon cutting Monday, September 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chamber office (400 W. Hwy 290, Ste. B205). A great chance to welcome a growing local business.

Every new business is a sign of our community's momentum. If you run a business in Dripping Springs, Driftwood, Fitzhugh, or Belterra, claiming your free listing on DS Tiger Guide is the easiest way to get found by new neighbors searching for exactly what you offer.

Networking & Community

This week brings a couple of great opportunities to connect with fellow locals:

  • Young Professionals Happy Hour — Monday, September 15, 4:30–6:30 p.m., at Acopon Brewing Co. (211 W. Mercer St.). A relaxed way to meet other local professionals over a craft beer downtown. Register through the Chamber.

  • Chamber 101 recently gave prospective members a look at how to make the most of their Chamber membership — a reminder that our local business network keeps getting stronger.

Friday Night Lights: Tiger Football

Football season is in full swing, and the Dripping Springs Tigers return home this week. After opening the season against Lake Travis and Harlan, and a road game at Round Rock, the Tigers host Harker Heights this Friday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.

Coming off a strong 2025 campaign, expectations are high again this fall — so grab your maroon, bring the family, and pack the stands. There's nothing quite like a Hill Country Friday night.

Important: Stage 4 Water Restrictions Now in Effect

One piece of essential news for residents: the Dripping Springs Water Supply Corporation implemented Stage 4 watering restrictions for all DSWSC members, effective September 1, 2026, due to continued declines in aquifer levels and a lack of substantial rainfall.

Under Stage 4, automatic sprinkler and drip irrigation use is prohibited — outdoor watering is limited to a hand-held hose with a positive shut-off device on scheduled days and times. If you're a DSWSC customer, it's worth reviewing the current rules directly to stay compliant and help conserve our shared water supply. September is also National Preparedness Month, making it a fitting time to think about water conservation and emergency readiness together.

Weekly Staples You Can Count On

Some things you can always plan around:

  • Dripping Springs Farmers Market — every Wednesday, 3–6 p.m., at Dripping Springs Ranch Park.

  • Live music all week at local favorites including Acopon Brewing, Ghost Note Brewing, and area wineries and distilleries.

  • Trivia nights at Suds Monkey Brewing and Acopon — a fun midweek outing.
